Choosing the Right Ceiling Fans

Ceiling fans are great alternatives to air conditioning when it comes to home cooling. These units are energy-efficient and they conveniently bring with them an added bonus of lighting and decorative functions. Installing these devices into your home can prove to be very effective and worthwhile investments. However, you should be very careful when choosing these items. Not all manufactured overhead fan units are built the same. The style and design shouldn't only be your primary basis when picking these items. There are things that you should consider so you can choose the right ones for your home.

Your first consideration is the size of the room. Smaller rooms need smaller sets of fans. Consequently, larger rooms need larger fans. It is important to put the appropriate fan size for the room because having a small device in a wide space will cause it to work harder in order to cool the room. In any case, you may have to install two units in a bigger space. On the other hand, having a big unit in a tiny area will make you feel as if you are being blown away and it can be pretty uncomfortable.

The next important factor you should look into is the height of the room. Tall ceilings will require the use of down rods to bring the overhead fans closer to the people occupying the room. When it comes to rooms with low ceilings like the ones you have in your attic and basement, there are hugger units which you can use.
Lastly, you should buy only from reputable stores and manufacturers. You can also choose from their wide range of styles, designs and finishes.

  1. This fan is great! It's exactly what I was looking for. Good Quality & Affordable! I do wish it took regular light bulbs, but that's the only negative thing I can say about it.
